How it all started...
In November of 1953, a small group of believers came to the Croswell area with a desire to establish a Baptist church. They first met in a school building at Galbraith Line and Babcock Road in nearby Lexington. On November 30, 1954, Community Baptist Church was officially incorporated as an independent Baptist church in the state of Michigan.
By March of 1955, the group moved to a storefront at 13 Wells Street in Croswell. Just a few years later, in August of 1957, land was purchased at 5501 Peck Road—made possible in part through the sale of two cows. Over the next four years, the church family worked together to construct a new building, holding their first service there in 1960 and dedicating it in 1961.

Where we are headed...
Today, Community Baptist Church is building on that faithful foundation with a renewed vision for the future. With a desire to reach the next generation and strengthen families, the church is committed to expanding its ministry, deepening discipleship, and increasing its impact in the Croswell community and beyond. Through intentional outreach, biblical teaching, and a heart for service, the goal is to see lives changed by the gospel and to continue growing as a church that honors Christ. Looking ahead, Community Baptist Church seeks to remain steadfast in truth while actively pursuing new opportunities to share the hope of Jesus with a changing world.
